You might see the pressure gauge fluctuating wildly, or hear a constant hiss if it’s bypassing fluid when it shouldn’t be. On the flip side, if it’s sticking closed, you’re looking at potential overpressure issues, which can blow Dichtungs or even crack Gehäuses if you’re not careful. That’s when you start seeing unexpected leaks or even a Schlauch burst.

When you're replacing one of these, don't just swap it out and call it a day. Always check the system for contamination – a lot of times, a worn Ventil is a symptom of dirty oil. Also, make sure you're setting the relief pressure correctly for your specific machine model; it’s not always a ""one size fits all"" deal, and getting it wrong can cause more headaches down the line. A common mistake is forgetting to cycle the system a few times after installation to make sure it seats properly and holds pressure.
