LABEL

157 217 78 SYMBOL ''EXTRA FLOW'' is one of those small things that makes a huge difference in the field. It’s not a moving part, obviously, but it’s what tells you what you’re looking at – whether it’s the hydraulic oil fill, the engine coolant, a specific warning, or a control function. On a busy rig, especially when you’re troubleshooting or doing a quick service, having clear, readable identification prevents mistakes. It’s the visual instruction manual that’s always right there, keeping operations safe and efficient by making sure you know exactly what you’re touching or adjusting.

When these labels start to fade, peel, or get covered in years of grime and paint, that’s when you run into trouble. You’ll notice guys hesitating, maybe even calling back to the shop just to confirm which port is which, or worse, pouring the wrong fluid into a tank because the cap LABEL is gone. I’ve seen rigs come in with major issues just because someone couldn't read a critical warning LABEL and kept running the machine. It slows everything down, introduces risk, and can lead to some expensive mistakes if you guess wrong.

Swapping out a worn-out LABEL is about as simple as it gets, but it’s a critical step that often gets skipped. Just clean the surface really well before you apply the new one; otherwise, it’ll just peel right off again in a few weeks. Make sure it’s straight and pressed down firmly. What most technicians forget, or just get complacent about, is that these labels are there for a reason. Take a moment to actually read them, especially on a rig you haven't worked on in a while or when a new guy is on the crew. It’s cheap insurance against a costly error.
