308 955 38 ORIFICE ADAPTER Installed in the pivot points of the boom or feed system, this bushing provides a low-friction surface for connecting pins. It absorbs loads and allows for smooth articulation while maintaining the correct alignment between major structural components. Without a properly functioning bushing, joints become loose and inaccurate.

Wear in this component directly impacts drilling accuracy and overall reliability. For example, when this bushing wears in a boom joint, the entire feed beam starts to move with noticeable play. This makes it difficult for the operator to collar a hole precisely, slowing down the drilling cycle and increasing stress on the drill string.

Listen for unusual noises and visually inspect joints for excessive movement or ""slop"" during routine walk-arounds. A worn bushing should be replaced as soon as it's identified.
