OVERHAUL KIT

OVERHAUL KIT 3115 9153 98 is the package you grab when you're rebuilding a critical hydraulic cylinder, say, on your feed beam or a boom. It’s got all the seals, O-rings, and sometimes the wear bands you need to get things sealing up tight again. Basically, these bits are what keep the oil where it needs to be, making sure your cylinder extends and retracts with proper force and doesn't just bypass internally. Without these fresh components, you're just pushing oil around, not moving steel.

When the seals in that cylinder start to go, you’ll notice it pretty quick. Usually, the first thing is a bit of drift – the boom might sag a little, or your feed cylinder won't hold position under load. Then you often get that tell-tale external leak, a slow weep that turns into a steady drip, usually around the rod seal. Internally, you might see sluggish movement, or the cylinder just won't develop full pressure, meaning you're losing power and efficiency. Sometimes, you'll even hear a bit of a groan or chatter as the oil tries to find the path of least resistance past worn seals.

When you're putting this kit in, take your time. Clean everything thoroughly – any little bit of grit or old seal material left behind will cut your new seals faster than you can say 'rig down'. Always make sure you're using the right assembly grease or hydraulic oil on the new seals before you slide them in; dry seals tear easily. And here’s a common one: double-check the orientation of those rod seals. It's easy to get them backwards, and then you're doing the job twice.
