Replacing a RING, LOCK seems straightforward, but it's easy to mess up. Always make sure you're using the correct tool – trying to pry it out with a screwdriver is a good way to bend it or scratch the housing. When you put the new one in, give it a good visual check to ensure it’s fully seated in its groove all the way around. A common oversight is not checking the groove itself for damage or burrs; if that groove is messed up, even a new ring won't hold properly, and you'll be back in there sooner than you'd like.
