When this pane starts to go, you’ll notice it pretty quick. The most obvious thing is usually cracks or hazing, which really messes with visibility, especially in bright sun or dusty conditions. Beyond just seeing things, a compromised pane means the cab's integrity is shot. You'll get more dust ingress, which is a pain for the operator and can mess with the cab electronics over time. Sometimes, if it's really bad, you'll hear a distinct whistling noise from air getting sucked in around the edges when the cab is pressurized or the AC is running hard.

Replacing one of these isn't rocket science, but you gotta do it right to avoid repeat failures. Always make sure the frame and rubber seals are clean and free of old adhesive or debris before you even think about putting the new pane in. What often gets overlooked is checking the condition of the surrounding frame and the mounting hardware; sometimes a slightly bent frame or a missing bolt is the real culprit for a crack appearing down the line. Don't overtighten the retaining screws, either – plastic doesn't like that.
