CANOPY 5112 0052 81 This component serves as the primary protective structure over the operator's compartment. Its main job is to shield the operator from falling rock, a constant hazard in underground mining and tunneling. The design is specifically tested and certified to meet stringent safety standards for both falling object protection (FOPS) and rollover protection (ROPS).

Located directly above the operator's seat, the integrity of the canopy is fundamental to the safe operation of the entire drill rig. A compromised or damaged canopy not only violates safety regulations but also puts the operator at extreme risk. For example, even a small dent from a rock fall can create a weak point that might fail during a more significant impact.

Visually inspect the canopy for cracks, deep dents, or any deformation before each shift. Pay close attention to the weld joints and mounting points. If any structural damage is found, the machine must be taken out of service immediately. Never attempt to weld or repair a damaged safety canopy; replacement with a genuine, certified part is the only safe course of action.
