RECEIVER
The 550 041 63 RECEIVER acts as your rig's air storage and oil separator, providing a steady supply of clean compressed air. Keeping this component in good condition prevents oil contamination in your pneumatic systems and helps maintain consistent drilling performance, saving you headaches and costly repairs down the line.

Full Technical Description
550 041 63 RECEIVER is essentially the air reservoir for your rig’s compressed air system. It takes the air coming straight off the screw compressor, smooths out any pulsations, and holds it under pressure before it gets distributed to your DTH hammer or other pneumatic tools. Crucially, it also gives the oil mist a chance to settle out of the air stream, which is absolutely vital for keeping your downstream components clean and running right.
Now, when this RECEIVER starts to go south, you’ll definitely notice it. Usually what happens is the internal coating degrades, or you get corrosion, and that means poor oil separation. You'll start seeing more oil in your air lines, which is a real killer for seals in your hammer or air motors. Another common sign is inconsistent air pressure at the drill head, especially under load, because the tank isn't holding its volume or smoothing things out like it should. Sometimes, if it's really compromised, you might even pick up on subtle air leaks around the welds or fittings, which is a major red flag for safety.
Look, replacing one of these isn't a job you want to put off. When you do get around to swapping it out, make sure you're also giving a good once-over to all the associated pressure relief valves and, especially, those condensate drain valves. Those little drains get neglected all the time, and if they're plugged, water builds up inside, leading to corrosion from the inside out. Don't forget to check the mounting points and brackets too; vibrations on these rigs can really chew them up over time.
