Without good seals, you're just losing efficiency and creating heat, which nobody wants.

When these seals start to go, usually what happens is you'll notice a bit of drift in your cylinder, or maybe the feed pressure starts fluctuating more than it should. And here's the kicker: always lubricate the new seals properly before installation. A lot of guys forget that, and a dry seal is a dead seal waiting to happen, especially on the initial pressurization.
