550 306 13 OIL RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Located at the front of the drifter, the receiver assembly manages the flow of flushing media—typically air and water—to the drill steel. Its primary job is to create a sealed path from the drifter's internal circuits to the shank adapter. This ensures that the full pressure and volume of the flushing media reach the drill bit to effectively clear rock chips and cool the bit during operation.

A failure in this assembly can have serious consequences for the entire drilling operation. Internal or external leaks reduce flushing efficiency, which slows down penetration rates and can cause the drill steel to get stuck. More critically, a leaking receiver can allow water to enter the drifter's percussion mechanism, contaminating the lubrication and leading to premature failure of expensive internal components.

Common signs of a worn receiver include visible leaks around the front of the drifter or a consistent drop in flushing performance. During routine maintenance, check the assembly for cracks and wear.
