STUD
This 550 360 50 STUD is a crucial fastener, providing a reliable anchor point for various components on your rig. It helps maintain structural integrity and proper alignment, preventing unwanted vibration and wear. A small part, but essential for keeping your machine running tight and true.

Full Technical Description
550 360 50 STUD is one of those unsung heroes that keeps things bolted down tight. You’ll usually find these guys holding on covers, flanges, or even some of the heavier components where you need a really solid, fixed anchor point for a nut. Instead of threading a bolt in and out of the main casting every time, you thread this STUD in once, and then you just work with the nut. It’s a smarter way to manage wear on critical threads and often gives a stronger, more consistent clamp load, especially in high-vibration spots.
When one of these studs starts to give up the ghost, it’s usually either snapped clean off from fatigue or the threads on it have pulled out. You might not even see it right away. But if it’s holding a cover or a flange, you’ll definitely start to notice a new rattle or maybe even a slight weep if there’s a gasket involved. I’ve seen a few times where a loose STUD on a hydraulic manifold caused a subtle pressure drop and some inconsistent drill feed, just because the seal wasn’t holding tight anymore. Or, if it’s on a structural piece, you’ll feel increased vibration or just a general 'looseness' in that assembly.
When you're swapping one of these out, first thing, always check the threads in the hole it screws into on the main casting. That’s a common miss, and if those are galled or stripped, a new STUD won’t do you much good. Clean everything up, make sure the new STUD threads in smoothly by hand, then torque it to spec. And if the manual calls for a bit of thread locker, don’t skip it – especially in those high-vibration areas. It’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in keeping things from backing out.
