550 432 28 TORQUE MOTOR is the muscle behind your rotation head or, in some setups, the main drive for the feed system. It’s what takes the hydraulic pressure from the pump and turns it into the twisting force you need to spin the drill string or push the rock tools down the hole. Essentially, it converts fluid power into mechanical rotation, directly impacting how fast and effectively you can drill through rock. It's a key piece for getting the work done.

When this motor starts to wear out, you’ll usually notice a definite drop in drilling speed or inconsistent torque. The rotation might feel sluggish, or you could even hear a distinct groaning or whining sound from the motor itself as it struggles under load. Sometimes, you'll see the pressure gauge fluctuating wildly when it's supposed to be holding steady, indicating internal leakage or cavitation. If it's really bad, the rotation might just stop altogether, or it'll chatter and shake.

Replacing one of these isn't a quick job, so make sure you’ve got the right seals and O-rings on hand for the swap. Before you even pull it, always check the hydraulic lines and fittings for any signs of restriction or damage; sometimes what looks like a bad motor is just a clogged filter or a kinked hose starving it of oil. After installation, cycle the system a few times to purge any air and check for leaks before putting it back to work.
