551 602 28 VALVE, THERMOSTAT This valve functions as a safety and regulation device within the drill's hydraulic circuit. It's designed to open and divert hydraulic oil flow when the pressure in a line exceeds a preset limit. This action prevents over-pressurization, which could otherwise damage sensitive components like filters, coolers, or even the hydraulic pump itself.

A faulty bypass valve can lead to several drilling problems. If the valve is stuck open, you might notice a significant drop in percussion power because the hydraulic fluid is taking the path of least resistance instead of driving the piston. Conversely, if it fails to open and gets stuck closed, a clogged filter could cause a dangerous pressure buildup, potentially bursting a hose and stopping the machine.
