It's not just for showing a number on a screen; it's active feedback that directly influences how the machine operates.

When one of these transducers starts acting up, you'll usually notice some pretty odd behavior with your hydraulics. Maybe the drill feed is sluggish or inconsistent, or the impact pressure isn't holding steady even though the operator is calling for full power. Sometimes you'll see pressure readings on the display jumping all over the place, or just flatlining entirely, even when you know there's definitely pressure in that line. That's a dead giveaway it's either gone bad internally or it's sending garbage data to the controller, which then messes with the entire sequence of operations.

Replacing one of these isn't typically a massive job, but always make sure you relieve system pressure first – you really don't want a hydraulic shower. When you swap it out, give a good look at the electrical connector. We've seen plenty of 'bad' transducers that were just corroded pins or a loose connection causing intermittent signals. Also, ensure the threads are clean and you use the correct sealant, or you'll be chasing leaks later.
