CONTACT, MALE

551 862 09 CONTACT, MALE Functioning as a key electrical switch component, this contact element makes or breaks circuits based on operator input. It is typically located within control panels, joysticks, or electrical cabinets. When a button is pressed or a lever is moved, this element closes a circuit to activate a solenoid, motor, or send a signal to the control system, enabling functions like boom movement or drilling.

Reliable electrical contacts are essential for both safety and productivity. A worn or failing element can cause intermittent machine functions, leading to unpredictable behavior and significant downtime. For instance, if the contact for the feed control fails to engage properly, the drilling cycle can be interrupted, directly impacting your advance rate and overall efficiency.

Symptoms of a failing contact element often include a machine function that won't activate or only works sporadically. If a specific control becomes unresponsive, this component should be inspected. Replacement by a qualified technician is recommended, as it involves working with the machine's electrical system. Always ensure the power is locked out before servicing.
