When one of these starts to go bad, you'll often notice things getting a bit sluggish or not responding quite right. If it's in a hydraulic line, you might get some drift in a cylinder, or maybe a function just won't engage properly – like a boom section creeping down. For air or water, you'll probably hear a hiss or see a drip, indicating it's not sealing anymore.
