You could also see the feed beam or drill string start to bind up a bit, or maybe it just doesn't track straight anymore, leading to uneven wear on your drill string components. Sometimes, if it's really gone, you'll feel increased vibration through the rig, especially during collaring or when pulling rods.

Replacing these isn't usually a huge job, but it's one of those things you want to catch before it causes bigger headaches.
