HOSE SET

HOSE SET 5580 0114 85 A hose set is essentially the circulatory system of a hydraulic drilling rig. It consists of multiple flexible lines designed to carry high-pressure hydraulic fluid between different components. These hoses connect pumps to valves, valves to actuators, and various other parts, ensuring that power is delivered precisely where it's needed for functions like boom positioning, feed extension, and drifter rotation or percussion.

The integrity of these hydraulic lines directly impacts the safety and operational efficiency of the entire machine. A failing hose can lead to sudden loss of hydraulic function, creating a dangerous situation for operators and potentially damaging other components. For instance, if a hose supplying the drifter's percussion circuit ruptures, the driller loses impact energy, severely reducing penetration rate and overall productivity.

Common signs of a worn or failing hose include visible cracks, chafing, bulges, or fluid leaks around fittings or along the hose body. Any of these symptoms indicate a need for immediate replacement. Regularly inspecting all hydraulic hoses for wear and tear, especially in areas prone to rubbing or impact, is a simple but vital part of preventative maintenance. Replacing a damaged hose set promptly prevents larger system failures and maintains consistent drilling performance.
