SHRINKING CONDUIT
The 560 153 34 SHRINKING CONDUIT is a crucial protective sleeve for electrical wiring and small hydraulic lines on your rig. It shields against abrasion, moisture, and debris, preventing premature wear and unexpected failures in demanding field conditions.

Full Technical Description
560 153 34 SHRINKING CONDUIT is usually what we use to protect critical wiring harnesses or small hydraulic lines from getting chafed or exposed to the elements. Think of it as an extra layer of skin for the stuff you really don't want to see fail out in the field. It shrinks down tight when you heat it, creating a pretty decent seal against dust, water, and even some of the nasty drilling mud we deal with every day. Keeps things tidy and safe, preventing a lot of headaches down the line.
When this shrink tube starts to degrade, usually from constant abrasion, UV exposure, or just plain old age, it cracks and peels away. That exposes whatever it was protecting. So, if it’s a sensor wire, you might start seeing intermittent fault codes or readings that jump all over the place, making troubleshooting a nightmare. If it's a small pressure line, you could get a pinhole leak that's tough to spot until you've got a mess, or even worse, a complete line failure that shuts you down. The most common thing I've seen is electrical shorts from exposed wires rubbing against the rig's frame.
Replacing these isn't rocket science, but it's often overlooked during routine checks. When you're doing a general inspection or working on a related component, always take a good look at the shrink tubing around any harnesses or lines you can get to. Make sure it's still intact and not brittle. A common mistake is not getting the right size – too big, and it won't seal properly; too small, and you'll struggle to get it on. And remember, use a proper heat gun, not an open flame, unless you want to melt the insulation underneath or even the line itself.
