560 254 58 BUCKET WELDING Mounted directly on the drifter, this accumulator acts as a small, high-pressure hydraulic reservoir. It smooths out the oil flow from the pump and then delivers a rapid discharge of energy to drive the percussion piston. This function is absolutely critical for generating the powerful and consistent impact needed for efficient rock breaking.

Proper operation of this component directly affects both drilling speed and the service life of other parts. It absorbs the intense pressure shocks created by the drifter's action, protecting hydraulic hoses and the main pump from fatigue. When this accumulator loses its charge, the drifter's impact energy drops sharply, leading to slow penetration rates.
