615 077 77 DISC SPRING ASSEMBLY Located within the main body of the drifter, this ring assembly serves to seal the high-pressure hydraulic chambers that power the impact piston. Its primary job is to prevent internal pressure leaks, making sure that maximum hydraulic energy is converted into rock-breaking force. Proper sealing from this assembly is directly linked to the drill's penetration rate and overall efficiency.

When the seals and guide rings in this assembly wear out, the drifter will lose significant impact power, resulting in slow drilling. This internal leakage also causes the hydraulic oil to overheat, which can damage other components in the system. For example, a worn ring assembly is a common root cause for a drifter that sounds busy but makes little headway in hard rock.

This component is replaced as part of a scheduled drifter overhaul in a workshop, not in the field.
