FITTING

623 360 80 ELBOW A FITTING like this one plays a fundamental role in any underground drilling rig's hydraulic, pneumatic, or water systems. Its primary job is to securely join hoses, pipes, or tubes, directing the flow of essential fluids like hydraulic oil, compressed air, or water. You'll find these connectors throughout the machine, from the drifter's lubrication lines and the hydraulic control circuits to the air flushing system and dust suppression water lines.

The integrity of these connections directly impacts the overall safety and performance of your drilling operation. A compromised FITTING can lead to significant fluid leaks, resulting in pressure loss that reduces drifter impact energy, feed force, or rotation torque. Beyond performance, leaks create slip hazards for personnel, contaminate the mine environment, and can introduce contaminants into the hydraulic system, accelerating wear on other components.

Common signs of a failing FITTING include visible fluid leaks, a noticeable drop in system pressure, or even unusual hissing sounds if it's an air line. Regular visual inspections for any signs of weeping or damage are important. When replacing a FITTING, always ensure you use the correct type and size, and apply appropriate thread sealant or replace O-rings to guarantee a tight, leak-free seal.
