770 150 06 INCLINATION GAUGE is essentially the eyes for your drill's angle. It sends a signal back to the control system, letting the operator and the rig's automation know exactly how much the feed beam or drill string is tilted relative to vertical or horizontal. This is what keeps your holes straight, or at whatever specific angle the job calls for, whether you're doing production drilling or pre-split. It’s a pretty critical piece for getting the right hole geometry, especially with any kind of auto-angle feature engaged.

When one of these starts going south, you’ll usually notice some pretty inconsistent readings on your display, or the auto-angle function just won't hold its set point. The rig might constantly try to correct itself, or you'll see the angle drift off slowly even when everything else seems fine. Sometimes it's just a bit erratic, jumping around a few degrees, but other times it'll flat-out give you a ""sensor fault"" or just stick at zero. That's when your operators start complaining about crooked holes or having to fight the machine to keep the angle right, which really slows things down.

Replacing this isn't usually a huge job, but you gotta make sure the mounting area is clean and that it’s oriented exactly right – sometimes there’s a specific arrow or keyway. A common mistake is just swapping the sensor without checking the wiring harness and connectors; corrosion or a pinched wire can give you the exact same symptoms as a bad sensor. So, always give those connections a good once-over before you condemn the sensor itself.
