FLEXIBLE PIPE

770 166 77 FLEXIBLE PIPE A FLEXIBLE PIPE, often called a hydraulic hose, is essential for connecting different parts of an underground drilling rig that move relative to each other. These pipes carry hydraulic fluid under pressure, powering functions like boom articulation, feed system movement, or drifter rotation. They are designed to withstand constant flexing and vibration, ensuring a continuous and efficient flow of power throughout the machine's operational cycles.

Maintaining the integrity of these flexible lines is critical for both safety and drilling performance. A damaged or leaking pipe can lead to a sudden loss of hydraulic pressure, which might compromise control of the drill or reduce impact energy at the bit. This not only slows down the drilling process but also creates a significant safety hazard due to potential fluid spray or unexpected machine movement. Reliable fluid transfer ensures consistent power delivery, which directly translates to efficient rock penetration and overall productivity.

Common signs of a failing FLEXIBLE PIPE include visible cracks in the outer cover, bulges, stiffness, or fluid leaks around the fittings or along the hose body. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's important to replace the pipe promptly. Ignoring a worn hose risks a complete failure, which can cause costly downtime and potential damage to other components. Regular visual inspections during routine maintenance checks can help catch issues early and prevent more serious problems.
