RING PIN
The 811 192 89 SPRING-TYPE STRAIGHT PIN is a critical fastener, typically found securing pivot points or cylinder connections on your rig. It's designed to take the shear forces, keeping things aligned and stable. Don't overlook replacing it if you spot any slop or hear unusual noises; it prevents bigger headaches down the line.

Full Technical Description
811 192 89 SPRING-TYPE STRAIGHT PIN is one of those critical little pieces that often holds a major component in place, like a cylinder rod eye or a pivot point on a boom articulation. Its job is to take the shear load, keeping two sections connected while still allowing for movement, or just a solid, fixed connection. Without it, things just don't stay where they're supposed to, simple as that. You'll find these pins in places where you need a strong, reliable connection that can handle a lot of force without bending or breaking.
When this pin starts getting tired, usually what happens is you’ll notice some slop developing in the joint it’s supposed to be holding tight. If it’s on a boom or feed cylinder, you might start hearing a distinct clunking or knocking sound when the rig moves, especially under load or when you articulate. That noise is the pin moving around in its bore, wearing both itself and the surrounding material. Left unchecked, that play just gets worse, leading to potential misalignment or even a complete failure if the pin shears.
When you're swapping one of these out, don't just ram a new pin in there and call it a day. Always, and I mean *always*, check the bores it sits in. If those bores are ovaled out, a new pin won't last five minutes. And here’s the kicker many guys forget: make sure the retaining ring or split pin that holds it in place is new and properly seated. You don't want this pin walking out on you in the middle of a shift because of a cheap or reused retainer.
