SLIDING SLEEVE
The 865 674 29 SLIDING SLEEVE ASSEMBLY is a critical wear component that ensures smooth, low-friction movement of major assemblies like feed beams or rod changers. It protects expensive structural components from metal-on-metal wear, maintaining alignment and operational efficiency on your rig.

Full Technical Description
865 674 29 SLIDING SLEEVE ASSEMBLY is one of those critical wear bits that keeps things running smooth on the feed beam or maybe in the rod changer carousel. Basically, it’s a sacrificial pad, usually made of a tough polymer or sometimes bronze, that lets the main carriage or the rod magazine slide along its track without grinding metal. It takes the brunt of the load, keeps everything aligned, and stops the expensive structural components from wearing out prematurely. Without it, you'd have a lot of friction, binding, and rapid damage to your main frame.
If these shoes start wearing thin, you'll definitely notice it. The most common thing is a sort of groaning or squealing sound as the carriage moves along its path. Sometimes it’ll bind up, or you might see the feed cylinder struggling more than usual to push or pull. If it gets really bad, you’ll start seeing scoring on the main feed beam rails or the carousel tracks, which is a much bigger, more expensive headache to fix later. You might also get a bit of wobble or play in the system, which isn't great for drill accuracy or the life of other components.
When you’re replacing these, always check the mating surfaces on the feed beam or whatever track it runs on for damage. If those rails are chewed up, new shoes won't last long at all. And don't forget to clean out any old grease, dirt, and debris from the tracks before you put the new ones in; that stuff can cause premature wear on your fresh parts. It’s usually a good idea to swap out all the shoes in a set, even if only one looks bad, because the others are probably not far behind in terms of wear.
