It cuts down on guesswork and keeps things moving smoothly without accidental engagements.

Now, a SYMBOL (P) doesn't really ""fail"" in the mechanical sense, but it definitely degrades. Usually what happens is the print fades out from sun exposure, or it gets scratched up and peeled off from daily use and cleaning. When that happens, you’ll notice operators fumbling around, sometimes hitting the wrong switch or having to stop and think for a second. Replacing one of these is usually a quick job, but there's a trick to it. First off, make sure you clean the surface where the new plate is going *really* well. Get all the old adhesive residue and grime off. If you don't, the new plate won't stick properly and you'll be replacing it again in a few weeks when it starts peeling at the edges. Also, double-check the part number against the specific control it's for. It’s easy to grab a similar-looking plate that actually belongs to a different function, and then you're back to square one with operator confusion.
