AUXILIARY CONTACT

887 781 59 AUXILIARY CONTACT Functioning as a key connector, this auxiliary coupling joins fluid lines for systems that support the main drilling process. You'll typically find it in the lubrication circuit that supplies oil to the drifter or in the water flushing system that clears cuttings from the drill hole. Its purpose is to maintain system integrity under constant vibration and pressure fluctuations.

Even a small leak from a failing coupling can have significant consequences. A persistent drip in the lubrication line, for example, can starve the drifter's moving parts of oil, leading to overheating and accelerated wear. In the water system, a leak reduces flushing pressure, which can slow down penetration rates and increase the risk of getting the drill steel stuck.

Look for signs of fluid leakage, like drips or wet spots on the feed beam or hoses below the connection. A coupling that has worked itself loose from vibration is also a common issue. When installing a replacement, always clean the mating surfaces thoroughly and check any associated seals to ensure a tight, lasting fit.
