OIL PROTECTION
The 887 828 19 DEFLECTOR shields the critical electrical windings of a solenoid valve from environmental damage and physical impact. This ensures reliable actuation of hydraulic functions, preventing costly downtime and maintaining consistent rig performance in tough conditions.

Full Technical Description
887 828 19 DEFLECTOR is essentially the tough outer shell for an electrical solenoid coil, usually found on a hydraulic valve. Its main job is to keep the delicate copper windings inside safe from all the grit, water, and physical knocks that happen constantly on a drill rig. Think of it as the bodyguard for the coil. If that coil gets damaged, the solenoid won't pull in right, and your valve won't shift. So, this piece makes sure the electrical signal can reliably actuate the valve spool, keeping your hydraulic functions smooth and predictable.
When this OIL PROTECTION starts to give up, usually what happens is the actual solenoid coil underneath gets exposed and takes a beating. You might start seeing intermittent issues with whatever function that valve controls. Maybe a feed cylinder gets a bit sluggish, or a clamp doesn't quite engage with its usual force. Sometimes you'll hear a distinct buzzing or chattering from the valve itself, which is a dead giveaway the solenoid isn't getting a solid pull-in, often because the coil's windings are compromised due to a failed protective cover. It can even lead to the coil shorting out completely, leaving you with a dead function.
Replacing one of these isn't usually a big deal, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Always give the electrical connector a good once-over for corrosion or bent pins – sometimes the problem isn't the coil at all, but a bad connection. Also, before you button it all up, make sure the valve spool itself moves freely by hand; a sticky spool can burn out a new coil pretty quick. And when you install the new OIL PROTECTION, ensure it seats properly and the O-rings (if applicable) are good, so you maintain that seal against moisture and dirt.
