PISTON SPRING
The 895 448 39 SPRING is essential for maintaining proper pressure and sealing within hydraulic cylinders and air motors on your rig. It prevents fluid or air bypass, ensuring cylinders extend and retract with full power and motors deliver consistent torque. Replacing it promptly prevents system sluggishness and component wear.

Full Technical Description
895 448 39 SPRING is what keeps the pressure where it needs to be inside a cylinder, whether that's for a feed cylinder, a rotation motor, or even a hammer. Basically, it creates that crucial seal between the piston and the cylinder wall. Without it, you wouldn't get proper force transfer; the fluid or air would just blow by, and your cylinder wouldn't extend or retract with any real power. It's all about containing that working pressure so the system can do its job.
When these rings start to go, you’ll definitely notice it. Usually what happens is you get what we call 'blow-by.' For a hydraulic cylinder, that means the rod might drift or sag under load, or the whole operation just feels sluggish. If it's in an air motor, like for a rotation head, you'll hear air leaking past the piston, and the motor will lose torque, maybe even stall out under lighter loads than it used to handle. You might also see increased oil temperature in a hydraulic system because the fluid is just churning past the worn ring instead of doing work, which isn't good for anything else in the circuit either.
Look, when you're replacing one of these, don't just slap it in. Always give the cylinder bore a good once-over for scoring or any imperfections that might have caused the old ring to fail prematurely. And for crying out loud, make sure you're using the right installation tools or methods to avoid twisting or stretching the new ring during assembly. I've seen too many guys just try to force them on, only to have them fail again almost immediately because they were damaged during install. A little grease or assembly lube on the ring and bore goes a long way to prevent initial wear and tear.
