Located within the drifter's flushing circuit, these components manage the high-pressure medium that keeps the hole clean. A failure here, such as a leaking seal or a stuck valve, can lead to more than just slow drilling. It can cause the drill steel to get stuck, leading to significant downtime and potential damage to the drill string or the drifter's front head components.

If you notice weak flushing at the collar of the hole, or if the drill steel gets stuck more often than usual, it's time to inspect the cleaning system. Look for external leaks around the drifter front head or listen for internal air leaks. Replacing worn seals and valve parts during regular drifter service is the best way to ensure consistent performance.
