The most common symptom is your drill not hitting its marks, or you might see the auto-drilling sequence getting confused, maybe even some weird error codes popping up on the display related to positioning or depth. Sometimes, the rig just won't engage certain automated functions because it's lost its reference point. For maintenance, the big thing is keeping the lens clean. Dust, mud, and even just water spots can throw off its readings significantly. Always check the connections too; vibration can loosen things up over time. If you're getting consistent errors or misalignment, it’s usually time to replace it, but always try a good clean and a recalibration first. Don't forget to check the mounting bracket for any play – a loose mount means a loose reference, and the laser unit won't do you any good then.
