SERVICE KIT

BG 005 476 37B SERVICE KIT is usually the collection of seals and wipers you need to keep a hydraulic cylinder or maybe a control valve from bypassing internally or just leaking oil all over the place. It’s what makes sure the pressure you're building actually translates into movement, pushing the rod out or shifting a spool, instead of just bleeding off where it shouldn't.

When these seals start to get tired, you'll definitely notice it. Often, a cylinder will start to drift, maybe dropping a bit when it should be holding steady, or a function just feels weak, like it’s not getting full pressure. Sometimes you'll hear a bit of a hiss if it's an internal bypass, but usually, the first thing you spot is oil weeping around the rod or a valve body, which is a pretty clear sign it’s time for a change.

Look, when you're putting one of these kits in, the main thing is cleanliness. Any little bit of dirt or a burr on the metal parts will tear up your new seals in no time flat. Take the extra minute to really clean out the grooves and check the piston and rod for any nicks. And don't forget to lubricate those new seals properly before assembly; it makes a huge difference in getting them seated right and extending their life.
