OIL SEPARATOR
The BG 006 963 11C OIL SEPARATOR is a crucial filter element in your compressor system. It keeps oil mist out of your air lines, ensuring clean, dry air for your drilling operations. Replacing it regularly prevents oil carryover and maintains efficient compressor performance, avoiding costly downstream contamination.

Full Technical Description
BG 006 963 11C OIL SEPARATOR is what keeps your compressor air clean. Basically, it’s a big filter element inside a housing, designed to catch the oil mist that gets carried out of the compressor element. You need that oil for lubrication, but you definitely don't want it going into your air lines, down to your rock drill, or out into the atmosphere. It ensures you're getting dry, oil-free air for your systems, which is pretty crucial for everything from air tools to the drill's own air-driven functions. Without it, you'd be pumping oily air everywhere, causing all sorts of headaches.
When this thing starts to go bad, usually what happens is you'll see oil carryover. That’s the most common sign. You might notice oil residue in your air lines, or even worse, it starts showing up at the exhaust of your rock drill. Sometimes, you’ll get a noticeable drop in air pressure because the element gets clogged, restricting airflow. If it really clogs up, your compressor might even overheat because it's working harder against the restriction, or the pressure relief valve could start chattering, which is a pretty clear indicator something's not right inside that separator tank.
Replacing this isn't rocket science, but you gotta do it right. Always make sure you're using the correct replacement element; don't try to cheap out with an off-brand that doesn't fit properly or filter effectively. When you're putting the new one in, double-check that the sealing gaskets are seated perfectly and not pinched. A common mistake is not checking the scavenge line — that small tube that returns the separated oil back to the compressor sump. If that line is blocked, even a new separator won't work right, and you'll still get oil carryover.
