REEL, WATER HOSE

BT 000 007 71G REEL, WATER HOSE is what moves the water from point A to point B on the rig, usually for dust suppression at the drill bit or sometimes for cooling a specific component like a compressor or a hydraulic cooler. It’s pretty straightforward; it just needs to handle the pressure and flow without kinking up or bursting. Keeping the dust down is a big deal, not just for visibility but for component life too, so this hose is key in that whole system.

When these water hoses start to go, you’ll usually notice a slow weep first, maybe a little damp spot on the deck or around a connection. If it’s really letting go, you'll get a noticeable pressure drop in your water system, and your dust suppression might not be as effective. Sometimes you'll even see water spraying out, which isn't just a mess; it can create slip hazards or even short out electrical components if it's in the wrong spot. You might also see increased dust around the collar, which is a pretty clear sign something's up with your water delivery.

Replacing these isn't rocket science, but you want to make sure you're routing it properly. Always check for any sharp edges on the rig frame or other components that could chafe the hose over time. That's usually what kills them prematurely. Don't just yank the old one out and shove the new one in without a good look at the path. Also, double-check your clamps and fittings; a loose connection can cause just as much trouble as a worn-out hose.
