NIPPLE SET

NIPPLE SET 3115 5760 90 is a critical set of fittings designed to bridge connections in your rig's hydraulic or pneumatic lines. Think of them as the silent workhorses that ensure oil, air, or water gets from one component to another without a hitch. They're not just 'connectors'; they're what maintain system integrity, making sure pressure stays where it's supposed to be and fluids flow smoothly, whether it's powering a feed cylinder or getting air to the DTH hammer.

When these nipples start to go bad, you'll usually notice it pretty quick. The most common symptom, especially on hydraulic lines, is a slow weep or a visible drip of oil around the connection. If it's an air line, you might hear a faint hiss that gets louder over time, or you'll see your air pressure gauge fluctuate more than usual. A failing nipple can lead to a gradual pressure drop in a circuit, causing things like sluggish feed, inconsistent rotation, or even a noticeable loss of impact power if it's on a hammer line. Don't ignore those small leaks; they always get worse and can introduce contamination.

Replacing these isn't rocket science, but attention to detail matters. Always make sure you clean the mating threads thoroughly before installing the new nipple. A common mistake I've seen is technicians forgetting to properly apply thread sealant or using the wrong type for the application. Don't just crank it down; torque it to spec if you have one, or at least use good judgment to avoid stripping threads or cracking the fitting. And always double-check for leaks after you've pressurized the system again.
