It’s the sacrificial part that takes the abuse, ensuring the bigger components last.

When this bushing starts wearing out, you’ll definitely notice it. The first thing that usually pops up is some slop in the movement – that tight, responsive feel goes away. You might hear a distinct clunking or knocking sound when you start or stop a swing, or when the feed system engages. If you let it go too long, that play can lead to serious misalignment, putting uneven stress on pins, causing them to bend, or even cracking the surrounding structure.
