550 028 92 TANK This automatic shutdown device is responsible for delivering the correct amount of lubrication oil to the front of the drifter. It ensures that the drill tool shank and coupling are constantly protected by a film of oil during percussion. Located within the drifter's main lubrication circuit, it acts as a critical fail-safe for the oil supply, preventing dry running.

Proper shank lubrication is essential for both performance and reliability. Without the controlled oil flow from this unit, the high-friction contact between the shank and the drifter's front head would cause rapid overheating and wear. For example, if this unit fails to shut down percussion when oil runs out, the drill shank can quickly seize inside the drifter, leading to costly downtime and major repairs.

A faulty SLU UNIT might cause the drill to stop percussion unexpectedly or, more dangerously, fail to stop it when the oil supply is interrupted.
