Now, a LIFTING EYE isn't really a 'wear' part in the traditional sense, but it sure can get damaged. Hairline cracks around the base or in the eye are a huge red flag. If your shackle doesn't fit right anymore, or you spot any of that visual damage, you've got a problem. Before any lift, give these a good once-over. Check for any bending, cracks, or corrosion, especially if it's been exposed to the elements for a while. If it's a threaded eye bolt, make damn sure the threads are clean and undamaged, and that it's screwed in all the way with full engagement. People often forget to check for proper thread engagement or just assume it's good because it's 'just a hook'. It's not just a hook; it's a critical safety point, so treat it that way.
