BG 004 354 57F BRACKET, LIFTING is usually found holding some critical pivot point on the feed beam, maybe where it connects to the boom or the rotation unit. It's not just a spacer; this piece takes a good chunk of the load, keeping things aligned as the drill moves up and down or swings around. Think of it as the backbone for whatever it's linking, making sure forces transfer correctly without twisting or binding up the works.

When one of these starts to go, you’ll usually notice some slop. It might not be obvious at first, but that feed beam won't feel as solid. You might hear a new clunking sound when the drill starts or stops, or when it hits a hard spot. If it's really bad, you'll see visible movement where there shouldn't be any, and that can throw off your drilling angle or even cause premature wear on the pins and bushings it's supposed to support.

Replacing it is pretty straightforward, but don't just bolt on the new one and walk away. Always check the mating surfaces and the pins it connects to for wear. Often, if the bracket failed, the pins took a beating too. And for crying out loud, make sure those bolts are torqued right; loose hardware is usually what kills these things prematurely.
