Full Technical Description
770 150 11 BACK ALARM Functioning as the main rear cover for the rock drill, this component seals the high-pressure hydraulic chamber for the piston. It also serves as the primary manifold, directing the flow of hydraulic oil for the percussion and rotation circuits, as well as flushing water and lubrication air into the drifter's internal channels.
A crack or warp in this housing can cause serious internal pressure leaks, leading to a significant drop in impact energy and slower penetration rates. Because it secures the drifter to the feed, any damage to its mounting points can create misalignment, accelerating wear on both the drifter and the feed beam.
Look for oil leaks around the hose connections and hairline cracks, especially after the drill has been jammed. If drilling performance feels weak or inconsistent, inspect the BACK ALARM for damage. When installing a replacement, ensure all mating surfaces are clean and use new O-rings and seals to prevent leaks from the start.
Applications
- Underground drilling jumbos
- Mining and tunneling
- Hydraulic control systems
